Easter Week 2021

Easter Week, the time marked on the calendar by all merchants and companies in the tourism sector of the Costa del Sol, is another year involved in measures and restrictions given the current world situation due to the coronavirus crisis. Week in which the summer season usually begins to roll, with millions of trips to the coast of Malaga, filling much of the hotel occupancy and reservations in full restaurants.

Waiting for more concrete measures for this particular week where a large part of the administrations agree to maintain strict restrictions in order to avoid a fourth wave in our country after all the sacrifices made in these last two and thus avoid a new effect Christmas and start to properly prepare the summer season.

The restrictions that are considered include:
1. Perimeter closure of all autonomous communities from Friday, March 26 to April 9. There is more than Easter Week and it would last a maximum of 14 days.
2. Maintain the curfew between 22:00 and 06:00, although currently each community has the power to modify this law.
3. The celebration of massive events that involve the agglomeration and concentration of people is not allowed, given the difficulty of respecting security measures.
4. Meetings are still limited to a maximum of 4 people both indoors and outdoors.
5. The document also includes the recommendation of social gatherings in homes or closed spaces between people who do not live together.

For the second consecutive year the Easter Week processions will not be possible in the city of Malaga. Already at the time the Bishop of Malaga, Jesús Catalá signed the decree suspending the processions for this Easter Week that begins in a couple of weeks due to the coronavirus pandemic. In the decree we find the following "suspension sine die of all acts that have the character of external worship and all celebrations in which use of the public highway is made."
