Malaga Christmas lights 2019

The theme chosen for this year by the City of Malaga for its Christmas lighting will be to turn Calle Larios into a Christmas forest. This completely new lighting will be inaugurated this Friday, November 29 with three daily functions at 6:30 p.m., 8:00 p.m., and 9:30 p.m. until January 5, 2020.

The person in charge of lighting the Christmas lighting will be the international actor Antonio Banderas accompanied by the musical performance of our representative in Eurovision, Blas Cantó. This amazing lighting will be supported by 22 semicircular arches with 730,000 points of light. Figures such as suns, angels and autumn leaves will stand out throughout the city. To finish making Malaga the favorite city to live the Christmas spirit, we will add the “video mapping” of a Christmas center on Alcazabilla Street and another event in the Alameda Principal that will begin after finishing the show on Calle Larios.

The decoration of Malaga has already been chosen as the number one destination to enjoy the Christmas lights according to the Holidayguru website, ahead of cities like Vigo or Madrid. The projections will be 7 minutes and are titled "Christmas Account", which will tell the story of a girl currently living in the most emblematic places of Malaga.

All these decorations are possible thanks to a group of companies and entities such as Tourism and Planning Costa del Sol, Malaga City Council, Obra Social La Caixa, MAHOU-San Miguel, and Premium Hostel Inversiones.
